Chapter IIDesign Philosophy

The setting is drawn to serve the stone.

SOSNA jewelry is not designed on a mood board. It is designed around a specific stone — its structure, proportions and natural character — and it is executed in one house, by hands we know by name.

The house sits at the intersection of two disciplines rarely combined: coloured-stone trading and fine goldsmithing. Every piece we sign inherits both — the stone chosen by a gemmologist, the setting drawn by a designer, forged by a master.

  • IThe stone leads — everything else adapts to it.
  • IIRestraint over ornament — proportion is the finish.
  • IIIOnly natural, only certified — never lab-grown.
  • IVExecuted by hand, in one house — no white-labelled workshops.
Chapter IIIBy the Numbers

A quiet workshop, measured by pieces — not campaigns.

A workshop sized to the pieces we accept. Every figure below is verifiable on request under NDA.

Chapter IVTwo Catalogs

Two catalogs. One house. All made to order.

Our jewelry is designed in-house and made to order. Every design in the catalog is ready to be executed with the stone you choose — lead time 4–8 weeks. For an original piece from scratch, see bespoke.

Chapter VThe Principals

Two names are responsible for every piece that leaves the house.

The house is led by two principals working in tandem — one at the design bench, one at the stone counter. Every jewel is designed, sourced and signed by the same two people.

Lucia Sosna — Co-Founder & Principal Designer

Lucia Sosna
Co-Founder & Principal Designer

Lucia leads design and atelier — from the first sketch and CAD study through to setting, finish and hand-over. Every SOSNA piece carries her drawing.

Trained between Central European ateliers and the Bangkok JVC bench, she treats each commission as a private dialogue between the wearer, the stone and the maker.

  • Principal designer — sketch to hand-set piece
  • In-house atelier — master goldsmiths since 2011
  • Author of every signed SOSNA design
  • Direct hand-over to private clients

Martin Sosna
Co-Founder & Principal · Stones & Trade

Martin leads stone selection, sourcing and the global trade desks. He is the person on the phone with Bangkok cutters, Dubai brokers and US wholesale counterparties.

A decade and a half between the coloured-stone counters of Bangkok's JVC, the trading floors of Dubai's DMCC and the US wholesale market out of Florida shaped a mandate that is deliberately narrow: fewer pieces, fully documented, fully owned.

  • GIA-trained gemmologist
  • ICA member — International Coloured Gemstone Association
  • Direct cutter relationships — Bangkok · Chanthaburi
  • US wholesale desk — Miami base

Drawn, forged and set — by the same hands.

Every SOSNA piece is executed by a small team of master goldsmiths and setters we have worked with for more than a decade. No third-party workshops, no anonymous subcontractors.

The result is a signed piece with a single visual signature: quiet proportions, precise settings, and a stone that always keeps the last word.

Chapter XIIFrequently Asked

SOSNA jewelry, in plain language.

Are all your stones natural?

Yes — without exception. SOSNA Diamonds trades exclusively in natural, certified gemstones and diamonds. We do not offer lab-grown or synthetic stones as an alternative, and this is a permanent house standard.

How is a SOSNA piece different from a boutique brand?

We are simultaneously the stone dealer, the designer and the atelier. There is no middleman between the mine and your finger. The two people who choose the stone are the same two people who sign the finished piece.

How long does a piece take?

Standard pieces from the house cabinet ship in 4–10 weeks depending on setting complexity. Custom variants and sourced-to-brief stones can extend the timeline; the exact schedule is set in writing before production begins.

Can I bring my own stone?

Yes. We regularly work around client-owned stones, family heirlooms and vintage pieces. We document the incoming stone, provide a fresh laboratory report if useful, and design around it with your input.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — worldwide, by insured private courier. Customs, duties and documentation are handled by our team for the United States, EU, UK, Switzerland, Canada and the UAE as standard.

Can US retailers commission through the US desk?

Yes. The Miami desk handles US wholesale on memo terms, W-9 and resale certificates. Trade counterparties receive net wholesale pricing and can hand-carry pieces across US industry weeks.

What documentation ships with the piece?

Every piece ships with (i) the stone's original laboratory report from GIA / SSEF / Gübelin / IGI / HRD, (ii) a numbered SOSNA house certificate signed by both principals, and (iii) a written statement of provenance.
